this was the worst new computer i have ever bought!
Tried to set it up [Windows Upgrade, Windows security essentials, Firefox etc] at each stage it gave me problems. called HP support…not too helpful. Could not complete a scan with Security Essentials. seems like the whole machine was somehow corrupted, although it was bought as NEW. finally gave up and returned it. that was the easy part with Amazon. a waste of a week!

Love it, if you need basic web surfing, emailing communications or need to take notes for class or meetings, this Mini 7 is a rock star. The keyboard, mouse touch pad and screen are comfortable to use. 3 usb inputs, a RJ45 connection for cable modem or router plus a built in wireless card thats super easy to set up. Its built well and super light to carry along.

If you travel for business and don't need to carry a heavy laptop and prefer answering emails from a real keyboard rather than firing off from your blackberrys (micro screen) key pad with the ability to use MS Word, veiw spreadsheets reports and presentations from a hotel room or location this is your answer.

Stay away for those $99 Mini notebooks you see advertised - specially from
eglobalwireless.com where only good reviews are excepted. I learned the hardway and got stuck with one of those $99 frisbee's I can never use.

$300 is what you should except to pay for a decent mini notebook, after seeing and testing an Acer and Toshiba mini which were okay, I picked up this HP for $18 more at local Radio Shack.

Don’t expect this to be as fast or fancy as your primary computer, but this is a wonderful accessory for travel or around the house. We recently took ours to Europe for a 2-week trip, and it was great to be able to back up our photos and videos and take advantage of any free wireless internet opportunities that came our way – all without dragging along a full-size laptop. The whole deal – mini and charger cable plus wireless mouse – only take up as much room as a hardcover novel. The mini is also fully Skype-ready, with camera and mic. Plus it serves as a charger for anything you need to take that charges through a USB cable (it can handle 220 voltage). I am pretty sure you can find these new for less than $300, so shop around.

i got the same one but mine is called acer aspire one. set up is easy and the key board is big enough you dont mind . the screen is tiny compared to a lap top but you turn it into a tummy top .. instead of a lap top and you dont even notice.. and the battery life is amazing 6 hour at least.. and just pick it up with 2 fingers if your going to another room or outside.. i plugged in my 2.1 logitech speakers to it and the sound is incredible.it has everything i need.. and at 274.00 with no tax or shipping charges from amazon its a steal.windows 7 works great. the built in web cam is a plus..

I have a two year old HP Netbook, the older version of this one. I have been very happy with it especially price wise. The build is very solid and HP is never a bad choice. However I wish the keyboard was a tad bigger and the Atom was a little more powerful. But hey my netbook is going on two years so I am guessing they have only improved. keep in mind that a netbook is a netbook because of it’s size! If you are a laptop person be careful and test the netbook out in a store before you buy. It’s really important to make sure you like the keybord/overall feel before you buy! don’t expect full size performance in a 2lb netbook…yet!

I LOVE my HP Mini-210. GREAT performance, easy Internet access anywhere I go through the wireless assistant, and very light and compact. Keyboard is plenty big as is the monitor. I don’t use it for working at home on my large research papers (doctoral student), but it is great for taking to meetings or class, for making presentations, quickly checking email or looking up something on the Internet (QuickWeb) as a secondary computer for home use and work, traveling, and for working by the pool sipping a cold one!

It is so light and compact it allows me to fit my mini-laptop and a couple books and file folders in my shoulder bag. LOVE it and the color (I got red)!

I got my hp mini a week ago, and am very happy with it so far.

The good:
Very small and portable
Nice keyboard (quiet when one types, comfortable)
Battery life is pretty good, I have not tested that it is as long as it is claimed, but I have gotten a good 6 hours without problems.
The power cord transformer is smaller than usual
The whole package feels solid, not cheap

The not-so-good:
Even though it does its job, the power cord connection to the computer does not snap in place like one would expect.
The battery is bulky and heavy, it protrudes out of the computer.
This might be common to all minis, but still, it gets quite hot and it's bothersome to use the touch area when it's so hot. I will probably get a mouse for it for this reason.

Overall, a very good buy, specially for the price (around $350)

The product presents manufacturer’s software problems (Windows 7) that can be solved ONLY with a backup CD (that the computer does not include) inserted in a CD-Drive (that the computer does not have). It looks like a bad joke. HP: never more.

I’ve had this netbook for about a month and a half now. It works really well, the wireless is fast even with multiple programs open, and the portability is really nice. Battery life is okay, though not as good as they claim. A few complaints: The AC adapter falls out pretty easily, so you have to be careful when not using a battery, it has Windows 7 Starter, so you can’t change the desktop background, and the speakers are REALLY crappy. Other than that, it’s a great basic computer, especially for the price.

I'm a college student looking for something light and super long battery life, mostly for

-lectures and trips to libraries
-traveling

So far, I think the product has met both of my demands quite well. It's lighter than my textbooks. However, I think the processor speed could really do better. I usually set the laptop to "super performance mode" because otherwise it's too slow. But under that setting the battery like if only around 6 hours at most, which is a little more than half of the advertised 11 hours.

Also, there is not DVD drive, which could be problematic when I travel, because some materials in study abroad will be in CD format, but I won't be able to listen to it on my computer.

Otherwise, the design is pretty elegant. I really like the white color, and keyboard isn't too crappy.

If getting used to Intel Atom processor speed isn't too much of a problem for you, then I would recommend this netbook.
